Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who holds multiple prominent positions including First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, led the second meeting of the organising committee for the 3rd Asian Youth Games, scheduled to take place in Bahrain in 2025.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event is set to be hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 22-31. During the meeting, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad reviewed crucial plans related to the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, the National Communication Centre, and the allocation of venues for the various sports events. The competition schedule and preparations for the games were also assessed.
His Highness examined the upcoming strategies of the executive committee and stressed the urgency of accelerating preparations to meet all necessary requirements for the games. This will mark the first time the event is held in Bahrain, in collaboration with the Olympic Council of Asia.
Coordination among government and private entities, the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and the executive committee was highlighted as essential for the smooth organisation of the games. His Highness also emphasized building on Bahrain's previous successes in hosting major sporting events, such as the recent International School Sports Federation Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, using these experiences to enhance the upcoming games for athletes across Asia.
Efforts are being directed towards the finalisation of venues, stadiums, and sports facilities, with any outstanding requirements to be addressed promptly. His Highness expressed confidence in the capabilities of Bahrain's youth to overcome challenges and affirmed his trust in all teams to complete preparations on schedule, ensuring the event's success.
