Manama: Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Table Tennis Association and Deputy President of the Asian Table Tennis Union for West Asia, delivered the opening address at the Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships in Bangkok. She spoke on behalf of Khalil bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi, President of the Asian Table Tennis Union.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz emphasized the importance of the championships for the under-15 and under-17 age categories. She described the event as a crucial platform for cultivating emerging talent and shaping future champions in Asian table tennis.
The opening address encouraged the young athletes to see the tournament as an avenue for learning, growth, and inspiration for future generations. Shaikha Hayat highlighted that competing at the continental level is an achievement in itself. She also expressed gratitude to Thailand for hosting and organizing the championships.
In addition to her role at the opening ceremony, Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz will attend the Asian Table Tennis Union Executive Board meeting during the tournament.
Ali Abdulali Al Madah, Vice President of the Bahrain Table Tennis Association, is also present at the championships, serving as a technical supervisor appointed by the Asian Table Tennis Union.
