Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa Elected to International Paralympic Committee Board


Manama: Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC), has been elected to the Board of Directors of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The election was held during the IPC Extraordinary General Assembly, convened via videoconference on November 20 as part of the continuation of the IPC General Assembly and Conference – Seoul 2025.



According to Bahrain News Agency, a total of 27 candidates from various countries competed for the available seats, including 21 male and 6 female candidates. The IPC Board consists of 12 members: the President, two Vice Presidents, seven elected members, and two appointed members.



Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij’s election recognizes his long-standing contributions to para sports at the national and international levels, as well as his role in advancing the Paralympic movement through developmental initiatives and support for sports infrastructure for athletes with determination.



The Bahrain Paralympic Committee said that this achievement highlights the international Paralympic community’s confidence in Bahraini capabilities and reinforces the Kingdom’s presence in global sporting forums and international sports governance.
