Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Director General of the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, underscored that the Fael Khair initiative to support individuals with financial obligations is one of the leading humanitarian efforts stemming from the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Citizenship (Bahrainouna).
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid attributed the initiative's continued success since its launch in 2020 to the humanitarian vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the ongoing support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Director General noted that the initiative also reflects the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, aimed at strengthening social cohesion, alleviating the burdens on debtors, and promoting humanitarian values rooted in citizenship and social responsibility.
Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid noted that the Fael Khair initiative has supported 702 individuals, 354 men and 348 women, through the settlement of 1,429 financial cases totaling BHD 3,214,684.424.
The Director General emphasized that the initiative also secured partnerships with 12 institutions and companies and engaged 8 benefactors who directly contributed to settling individual debts.
Field teams followed up on cases, resulting in the payment of over 105 files by donors and the allocation of BHD 350,000 in additional support for eligible beneficiaries, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid added.
Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid expressed his appreciation to all donors and contributors and highlighted the role of social media content creators in raising awareness and enhancing engagement with the initiative.
