London: Serious pollution incidents caused by water companies in England increased by 60% in 2024 compared to the previous year, according to the UK Environment Agency.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agency recorded 75 major and significant pollution events (categories 1 and 2), up from 47 in the previous year. This rise highlights ongoing poor environmental performance across the country's nine water and sewage companies.
These incidents are classified as having a substantial negative impact on wildlife, ecosystems, and swimmers. The increase in pollution events raises concerns over water quality and environmental sustainability in England, prompting calls for more stringent regulations and oversight.
