Manama: Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), received Fatou Haidara, Deputy Director General and Managing Director of Global Partnerships and External Relations at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing the partnership between SCW and UNIDO to support women of productive families. Both parties explored strategies to empower women entrepreneurs and bolster their contributions to the national economy. One of the key initiatives highlighted during the meeting was Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa's Award for Productive Families, which aims to recognize and support women-led ventures.
Al Awadhi emphasized the importance of UNIDO's role in promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and investment. These efforts are crucial in achieving sustainable development goals, with a particular focus on women's economic empowerment and their integration into various sectors.
