SCIA Conducts 34th Regular Session Focused on National Milestones and Future Preparations

Manama: The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) held its 34th regular session of the fifth term, chaired by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the SCIA. The session highlighted significant national events and future religious preparations.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Council extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on the 25th anniversary of the National Action Charter and the 58th anniversary of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF). The National Action Charter was described as a milestone in the Kingdom's history, embodying principles that reflect the vision of the monarchy and the spirit of Bahraini society, thus supporting national stability and development.

The session underscored the importance of commemorating national occasions to reinforce values, inspire future generations, and promote unity. The SCIA commended the BDF's role in maintaining security and sovereignty under the leadership of His Majesty the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

In preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan, the Council urged early preparations by the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Council to ensure mosque readiness across the Kingdom. It called on religious leaders to use the holy month to promote Islamic values, moral conduct, and social cohesion.

The Council reviewed a memorandum regarding Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed's participation in the 36th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Cairo. The conference focused on the ethics and future of professions in Islam in the context of artificial intelligence. The Council expressed pride in the strong ties with Al Azhar Al Sharif and praised its efforts in promoting moderation and coexistence.

Further discussions included a report from the Sharia Opinion Committee on a proposed law from the Shura Council and the 2025 annual report of the Holy Quran Recitation and Teachers Preparation Institute. The Council commended the institute's efforts and achievements, acknowledging the dedication of its management and affiliates.

The session concluded with a review of correspondence, other business discussions, and decision-making.
