SCIA Commends Royal Support for Bahraini Pilgrims

Manama: The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), led by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, held its 26th regular session of its fifth term today. The council commended the continuous support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Bahraini pilgrims, and the services provided by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to facilitate their pilgrimage.

According to Bahrain News Agency, SCIA urged Bahraini pilgrims to fully comply with the regulations of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Kingdom of Bahrain's Hajj Missions to ensure their wellbeing and that of others. The council commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in serving the Two Holy Mosques, pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors by ensuring their safety, health, and ease of worship.

The council reviewed the 2024 annual report of the Quran Teachers Institute, covering strategic goals, human and financial resources, student affairs, academic processes, and support services. It also discussed outcomes from the fourth session of the Tafsir Councils Programme, held at the Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Centre in April, with over 300 participants. The sessions were led by Sheikh Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Ahmed Al Shanqeeti, a specialist in Quranic studies. SCIA expressed appreciation for the achievements of the Institute's board and academic staff.

The council also reviewed progress on several construction and reconstruction projects, including Al Fateh Grand Mosque in Manama and its adjacent cemetery wall, funded by the council; Al Tawbah Mosque in Busaiteen; Abu Ubaidah Bin Al Jarrah Mosque in Qalali; Al Harith bin Malik Mosque in Sanad; as well as new mosques in Salman City and East Riffa, all funded by philanthropists. It further followed up on technical, engineering, and administrative developments concerning additional mosque projects overseen by the council, such as the restoration and reconstruction of Sheikh Qasim Al Mahzaa Mosque in Manama, the Karzakan Mosque, Ben Huwail Mosque in East Riffa, a mosque and events hall in Hidd, and two new mosques in Hamad Town and the East Hidd housing project, also funded by charitable donors.

The council expressed its appreciation for the contributions of philanthropists in supporting charitable projects, describing their generosity as a reflection of the Kingdom's spirit of giving.
