SCH President receives World Bank delegation

President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, received at the council’s premises today a delegation from the World Bank led by Dr. Sameh Al Saharti, the Director of the Human Development Programmes in the GCC States, the Middle East and North Africa.

Held in the presence of SCH Secretary General, Ibrahim Ali Al Newakhdha, the meeting cast light on cooperation between the World Bank and SCH in the health sector, in general, and in developing the medical professionals, in particular.

The SCH President affirmed the unlimited support accorded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the development initiatives of the health sector. He reviewed the latest developments regarding the national health insurance programme, which is considered one of the strategic projects to improve the quality of health services in the kingdom. He also praised the constructive role of the World Bank in preparing for the programmes.

The World Bank representative, Dr. Sameh Al Saharti presented a number of proposals on holding a series of meetings to assess the needs of the health professionals and boost competencies in the health field.
