SCH President, Health Minister pay inspection visit to SMC

President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), Head of the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (Covid-19), Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, paid today an inspection visit to Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC), in the presence of Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila Sayed Jawad Hasan. The visit aims to follow up on the level of health services provided for citizens and residents, including treatment of the coronavirus cases.

Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa commended the ongoing support and valuable directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as well as the continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on all the efforts made to promote the health and safety of all. He also praised the tremendous efforts of all those affiliated with the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain who contributed to achieving the highest recovery indicators at the global level.

The visit included a number of facilities at SMC to get informed about the provision of health services and the latest developments in treating patients, including mainly the coronavirus cases.

Lieutenant General, Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, also made an inspection visit to the central stores and the stores of Salmaniya Medical Complex, where the mechanisms for providing medicines and ways to enhance their governance were examined. He stressed the importance of the availability of all medicines and the implementation of plans and strategies to sustainably cover the pharmaceutical stock in the kingdom and meet the patients’ needs for medicines and medical materials.

For her part, the Minister of Health praised the role played by the Supreme Council of Health in developing the health system, in accordance with the royal directives of HM the King. He also commended the continuous follow-up of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to upgrade the health services and ensure increased efficiency and sustainability of its resources.

The Minister of Health expressed most sincere thanks to the SCH President for the inspection visit, stressing the ministry’s keenness on further developing the health sector and achieving the desired goals.
