SCE Launches Digital Licensing for Refrigerant Gas Refilling Centres

Manama: The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has developed a new digital licensing service for refrigerant gas refilling centres, marking a significant step in the government's initiative to enhance and re-engineer services. This digital platform allows establishments to apply for licenses to operate approved refrigerant gas refilling centres, ensuring compliance with environmental and technical standards.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the new service has streamlined the licensing process by reducing the processing time from 20 working days to 15. This improvement is achieved through full automation, fewer processing steps, and a simplified user interface, which enhances the overall user experience and ensures faster transaction processing.

Amna Hamad Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the SCE, stated that the initiative reflects the council's commitment to adopting innovative digital solutions. These solutions aid in creating an accurate database of licensed centres, strengthening environmental inspections, and monitoring refrigerant gas refilling activities to ensure regulatory compliance.

Al Rumaihi emphasized that the service launch is part of SCE's ongoing commitment to evolving its services to reduce time and effort for businesses while enhancing operational efficiency. The service supports the effectiveness of the government system and offers tangible benefits for both citizens and investors.

The development of this digital service is part of a broader government effort to document, translate, and publish over 1,300 government services, with approximately 800 services currently undergoing development and re-engineering. These efforts are informed by feedback from the National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, and secret-shopper reports, alongside the launch of guidance manuals and service-level agreements.

These initiatives aim to improve procedural efficiency, enhance service quality, and strengthen the beneficiary experience, further supporting the government's digital transformation journey.
