Manama: Amna Hamad Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), met with Ivan Alexandrovich Kushch, Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and Shukhrat Razakov, Director of the Falcon Center in Kamchatka. The meeting discussed means to enhance cooperation in environmental fields and biodiversity protection.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Rumaihi praised the close relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation in environmental domains, affirming the SCE's keenness to expand the horizons of international cooperation. This collaboration aims to contribute to strengthening national efforts to preserve biodiversity, conserve natural resources, and support sustainable development.
The meeting reviewed the May 2024 cooperation agreement between the SCE and the Kamchatka Falcon Centre, focusing on exchanging technical and scientific expertise in falcon breeding and conservation. They also discussed developing cooperation through joint projects to protect endangered species, manage natural reserves, and provide training and capacity building in environmental sectors.
On his part, Kushch expressed appreciation for Bahrain's efforts in environmental protection and biodiversity conservation and affirmed the mutual commitment to advancing the partnership.
