Riyadh: The Roads General Authority (RGA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed the key role of the national road network in facilitating logistics and the movement of people and goods between Saudi Arabia and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, in line with the highest standards of quality and safety.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the authority stated that the Dhahran-Uqair-Salwa road, a vital 66-kilometre artery, contributes to strengthening land connectivity with the State of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, supporting transport between industrial cities and border crossings, and reducing travel time by approximately one hour.
Similarly, the King Fahd Causeway stands out as a strategic crossing that links Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Spanning 25 kilometres, it has, since its opening in 1986, contributed to facilitating the movement of trucks and vehicles and reducing waiting times at border crossings.
RGA also highlighted the logistical importance of the Saudi Arabia-Sultanate of Oman road, which extends 564 kilometres through the Empty Quarter, in addition to land routes linking the Kingdom with the State of Kuwait, most notably the Khafji-Nairyah-Riyadh road and the Al Ruqai-Hafar Al Batin-Al Majmaah road, all of which support transport movement.
