Saudi arabia: Over 1.2 million health services have been provided to pilgrims since the start of the Hajj season and through the 10th of Dhu Al Hijjah, according to Abdulaziz Abdulbaqi, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia.
According to Bahrain News Agency, these services are part of integrated efforts to enhance healthcare service quality and improve access to care, ensuring the health of pilgrims. The initiatives align with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Programme and the Pilgrim Experience Programme under Saudi Vision 2030, facilitating the performance of rituals with ease and reassurance.
Ministry data reveals that 49,931 beneficiaries received services through healthcare and urgent care centers, while emergency departments managed 41,782 cases. Outpatient clinics recorded 14,501 visits, and 4,901 patients required hospital admission.
The data further indicates that 29 open-heart surgeries, 251 catheterisation procedures, and 337 surgical operations were conducted, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Additionally, medical teams responded to 466 cases of heat exhaustion as part of a field system designed for rapid response and medical intervention across locations. The unified call center (937) received over 1,082,628 calls.
The health system continues to operate efficiently through proactive planning and an advanced healthcare network, ensuring safe medical care for pilgrims. These efforts demonstrate the health system's commitment to maintaining high standards of care throughout the Hajj season.
