Manama: As part of the Visiting Specialist Programme, supervised by the Supreme Committee for Treatment Abroad, Professor Youssry Elhawary, Professor of Orthopedic and Spine Surgery at Cairo University's Faculty of Medicine, was hosted by the Orthopedic Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during his visit, Professor Elhawary performed ten complex spinal surgeries, all of which were successful. This adds to the over 80 advanced procedures he has conducted during previous visits to the department.
Dr. Tariq Khalifa, Consultant in Orthopedic, Spinal, and Pelvic Fracture Surgery at Government Hospitals, highlighted the programme's role in enhancing the skills of medical and nursing staff through exposure to global expertise, particularly in managing rare and complex cases.
He commended Professor Elhawary's contributions and thanked the Supreme Committee for Treatment Abroad for supporting the programme, which aims to provide comprehensive healthcare in line with the latest medical advancements.
