Manama: In implementation of Royal Order (17) of 2017 concerning the regulations for appointing members to the Board of Commissioners of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, has issued Decision (1) of 2025, appointing members to the Committee for the Selection of the Board of Commissioners of the NIHR.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the decision appoints the following individuals as members of the Committee: Dr. Faisal Radhi Al Moussawi, Dr. Riyadh Yousif Hamza, Amal Salman Al Doseri, and Ghazi Faisal Al Rahma. Additionally, Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Alfadhel, Undersecretary for Legal and Political Affairs at the Royal Court, has been appointed as a member and rapporteur of the Committee.
The decision empowers the Committee to seek the assistance of individuals with relevant expertise and experience. These individuals may be invited to attend meetings to provide input or necessary information to support the Committee's work, although they will not have voting rights.
Furthermore, the Committee is authorized to form working groups to study and execute specific tasks within its mandate to support the achievement of its objectives. The decision is effective immediately upon issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
