Bangkok: Major Abdullah Abdulwahab Salmeen, a prominent powerlifting athlete from the Ministry of Interior, secured top accolades at the World Powerlifting Championship in Thailand. As a representative of the Public Security Sports Association, Major Salmeen clinched first place in both the bench press and squat events. He was further honored with the champion's belt for his first-place victory in the deadlift competition.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayat, President of the Public Security Sports Association, attributed these achievements to the unwavering support from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior. Brigadier Al Khayat emphasized the significant role of such support in the success of the ministry's athletes. He also acknowledged the diligent oversight by Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, who has been instrumental in guiding the ministry's sports teams through various local and international contests.
Furthermore, Brigadier Al Khayat praised Major Salmeen's accomplishments, underscoring the capability and preparedness of the ministry's athletes. He highlighted that these achievements serve as a testament to the high standards of Bahraini sports on both local and international platforms.
