Manama, Bahrain’s Council of Representatives and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on the sidelines of the Russian high-level parliamentary delegation’s visit to the kingdom.
The MoU was signed by Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, and the Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko.
The signing of the MoU is based on the two sides’ shared desire to deepen friendship relations between the two countries, further strengthen parliamentary cooperation and broaden frameworks of joint action between the legislative branches, being an effective means to enhance rapprochement at all levels, and based on the cultural values and historical traditions shared by the two friendly countries.
The MoU aims to improve the level of bilateral parliamentary cooperation and increase exchanged visits between the two sides’ delegations.
Under the MoU, the two sides will exchange information and expertise, coordinate efforts to promote peace and security, as well as enhance their consultations within international parliamentary organisations and gatherings.
