The Secretariat-General of the Representatives Council has participated in the Parliamentary Forum on Research and Library Cooperation, organised by the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), in commemoration of APA’s parliamentary achievements over the past 15 years.
Director of the Parliamentary Research and Training Centre at the Council of Representatives, Husamuddin Jaber, took part in the virtual event.
The forum focused on the opportunities and challenges of the rapid progress of information technology and its impact on the legislative and oversight role of parliamentarians, the approach of parliamentary research centres and libraries in strengthening the oversight capabilities, in addition to the policies of Asian parliamentary research centres and libraries to increase the use new technologies in the field of legislative and supervisory research.
