REHC, SCW Announce Hosting RoyalTea Festival

Manama: The Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) announced hosting the second edition of the RoyalTea Festival, held in cooperation and partnership with the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) on Friday, January 24 as part of the 2024/2025 horseracing season.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the second consecutive edition of the RoyalTea Festival underscores the success of its inaugural season, which aims to enhance the role of Bahraini women and their participation in various fields, including equestrian sports and horseracing. This sport is deeply rooted in the Kingdom's history and heritage, holding significant cultural importance and gathering widespread enthusiasm across Bahraini society.

The main purpose of the RoyalTea Festival is to create the ideal conditions to spread the culture of equestrianism and horseracing, highlighting its importance in Bahraini society. This initiative seeks to create an attractive environment that encourages women to engage in practicing their favorite hobby in the field of horseracing.

The festival will also include accompanying activities that provide women with a unique experience of attending, following, and enjoying the races of the day organized by the REHC. These events are sponsored by Bahrain Jewellery Centre, Annoushka Jewellery, and Empire Limo.

The SCW plays a role in supporting the development of the Kingdom, enhancing the status of Bahraini women, and their participation in all domains, including the partnership with the REHC. This collaboration has an impact on achieving community partnership through the equestrian sports and horseracing sector, which enjoys popularity among all parts of Bahraini society.

For its part, the REHC is keen to achieve cooperation with the SCW in various aspects related to women, which contributes to achieving common goals, including the implementation of the principle of gender balance and equal opportunities at the REHC. The Club actively encourages Bahraini girls to pursue careers as jockeys through training programs at the Bahrain Jockey Academy. The success of apprentice jockey Dhay AlSaadon, who completed the Academy's program and now competes in races, demonstrates the Club's dedication to diversifying the field of horseracing practitioners.
