Manama: As part of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club's (REHC) efforts to strengthen its strategic partnerships, and in line with its development plans and the Kingdom of Bahrain's hosting of international horseracing championships and events, the Club has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Gulf Air, under which the national carrier will serve as the official carrier for the 2025/2026 horseracing season.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement was signed in the presence of Yusuf Osama Buheji, Member of the High Committee of the REHC and Acting Chief Executive Officer, and Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air, along with a number of officials from both sides.
Buheji said that the renewal of the agreement reflects the strength of the existing partnership and the pivotal role played by the national carrier in supporting the sporting events and championships hosted by Bahrain, commending Gulf Air's continued support for horseracing and its contribution to developing the sport and enhancing the Kingdom's presence internationally.
He noted that this partnership carries particular significance given the Kingdom's hosting of numerous international championships and races, which serve as an effective platform for attracting horseracing enthusiasts and followers from around the world, and expressed his appreciation for the ongoing cooperation between the two sides.
On his part, Gauss expressed Gulf Air's pride in this agreement, which reflects the airline's commitment to national responsibility and community partnership, as well as its support for vital sectors in Bahrain, including the equestrian and horseracing sector, which is witnessing rapid development at both local and international levels.
He highlighted that the sponsorship aims to support organisational efforts and enhance marketing and promotional activities for the international races and championships hosted by the Kingdom, helping to showcase Bahrain's achievements and reinforce its position on the global horseracing map.
