Amman: The Foreign Ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt have engaged in intensive discussions over the past two days regarding the ongoing situation in Syria. These talks focused on developments and the collective efforts needed to support the Syrian government in its rebuilding efforts.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministers released a joint statement emphasizing a shared commitment to Syria's security, stability, unity, sovereignty, and citizens' rights. They expressed a unified stance against any foreign interference in Syria's affairs and highlighted their support for the Syrian government's efforts in maintaining state sovereignty and upholding the rule of law.
The ministers welcomed the recent agreement to resolve the crisis in the Syrian province of Sweida, stressing the importance of this agreement's implementation to safeguard Syria's unity and prevent further conflict. They also highlighted the commitment of Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa to hold accountable those responsible for violations in Sweida, advocating for efforts to reinforce security and state authority across Syria.
Additionally, the ministers condemned Israeli actions in Syria, describing them as violations of international law and impediments to Syria's rebuilding efforts. They called for international support for Syria's reconstruction and urged the UN Security Council to take measures against Israeli hostilities and ensure compliance with relevant resolutions. The ministers affirmed that Syria's security is crucial for regional stability and should remain a collective priority.
