Manama: The General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), organised a workshop on managing reformation and rehabilitation centres in line with humanitarian and human rights principles. The event aimed to foster a deeper understanding of humane management practices among those working in reformation and rehabilitation settings. According to Bahrain News Agency, the workshop is part of the Ministry of Interior's efforts to promote a culture of human rights and enhance the skills of staff working in these facilities. Participants included representatives from reformation and rehabilitation centres, pretrial detention facilities, and healthcare professionals from government hospitals who are involved in the care of inmates. The sessions concentrated on principles and practices for managing reformation and rehabilitation centres, with a strong emphasis on humanitarian and healthcare standards. Discussions underscored the importance of addressing the needs of inmates and safeguarding their rights, reflecting the centres' commitment to upholding international human rights standards.
