Manama: The Interior Ministry announced that the General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Higher Education Council, organised admission tests for inmates aspiring to pursue university education.

Colonel Adnan Juma Bahar, Director-General of the General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation, stated that these procedures are part of a series of educational and training programmes aimed at supporting inmates both academically and vocationally. He mentioned that the directorate is committed to providing all necessary means for inmates to achieve university qualifications, which will help develop their abilities and improve their chances for reintegration into society after completing their sentences.
A delegation from the National Institution for Human Rights and the Ombuds Office visited the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre to assess the progress of the exams and the conditions of the participating inmates. They praised the efforts of the Interior Ministry and its ongoing support in facilitating higher education opportunities for inmates.
