RCSI ‘Future Nurses Bahrain’ Initiative Engages Youth at Youth City 2030

Manama: The 'Future Nurses Bahrain' initiative played a significant role in the recent Youth City 2030 event, aligning with national efforts to empower young Bahrainis and nurture their professional aspirations in alignment with Bahrain Vision 2030.

According to Bahrain News Agency, launched in 2018, Future Nurses Bahrain is a national initiative led by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) - Medical University of Bahrain, supported by Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health.

The initiative's involvement in Youth City 2030 included a series of interactive workshops aimed at engaging and educating visitors about the nursing profession and skills. These workshops provided participants with an opportunity to explore nursing as a career through hands-on learning experiences.

Led by the University's Community Engagement team, more than ten nursing alumni, with support from five nursing students, the sessions reflected RCSI Medical University of Bahrain's commitment to inspiring the next generation by leveraging both academic expertise and real-world professional experience.

Participation in Youth City 2030 highlighted Future Nurses Bahrain's objective to meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals, while fostering a deeper appreciation of nursing's contributions to community health and wellbeing.

Dr. Eman Tawash, Senior Lecturer in Nursing, Deputy Head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Lead of Future Nurses Bahrain, stated that the workshops aimed to provide young Bahrainis with a clear understanding of the nursing profession, challenge misconceptions, and remove barriers that may discourage entry into the field. She emphasized that the initiative seeks to inspire future leaders and promote nursing as a sustainable career in the expanding healthcare sector.

Future Nurses Bahrain continues to assert its role as a partner in national development, collaborating with Bahraini stakeholders to cultivate a skilled, motivated, and socially responsible healthcare workforce in the Kingdom.
