Doha: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar summoned Ali Salehabadi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Qatar, to express strong condemnation and protest against what it described as the targeting of Qatari territory. The Ministry labeled this act as a blatant violation of Qatar's sovereignty and a breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, emphasized during the meeting that such actions are reckless and irresponsible. He highlighted that these incidents are inconsistent with the principles of good neighbourliness and the existing relations between Qatar and Iran. Dr. Al Khulaifi warned that the continuation of these actions could have serious repercussions for bilateral relations, especially as Qatar has been advocating for diplomatic solutions and de-escalation.
He further noted that the targeting of Qatari territory has caused terror among civilians and damage to residential areas. Dr. Al Khulaifi stressed the urgent need for a return to dialogue and diplomatic channels to resolve differences and halt military operations that threaten regional security and stability.
