Manama: The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force has announced that its missile air-defence systems have intercepted hostile Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom. A total of 61 missiles and 34 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed and neutralised. The General Command confirms that all defence systems remain at maximum readiness to intercept any further threats.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the General Command has noted that the use of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles to target civilian infrastructure and private property constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law, particularly the principles of distinction and proportionality. These attacks pose a direct threat to regional peace and security.
The Kingdom reaffirms its right to take necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and security. In response, the General Command urges all residents and citizens to exercise caution and vigilance, to remain indoors, and to go outside only when necessary to ensure public safety. The public is urged to rely on official and verified sources of information, disregard rumours, and avoid attack sites.
