Doha: The State of Qatar has sent its eighth identical letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the United Nations Security Council concerning the ongoing Iranian attacks on its territory. The letter described these actions as a violation of Qatar’s national sovereignty and a threat to its security, posing a risk to regional stability, as reported by the Qatar News Agency (QNA).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the letter was sent by Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations. It detailed that Qatar’s armed forces successfully intercepted five ballistic missiles on Tuesday. The following day, eight out of nine ballistic missiles were intercepted, and all drones were shot down, with one missile landing in an uninhabited area.
Qatar has strongly condemned the attack and affirmed its right to respond in line with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter to defend its sovereignty and national interests.
