Qatar Condemns Iranian Attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait

Doha: The State of Qatar has issued a strong condemnation of recent Iranian attacks on civilian targets in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, including an assault on Kuwait International Airport that caused significant damage and injuries. Qatar described these actions as severe violations of the sovereignty of Bahrain and Kuwait, as well as breaches of the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols. The attacks also contravene international humanitarian law, particularly the principles prohibiting the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure during armed conflicts.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar released a statement emphasizing Qatar's firm rejection of attacks on civilian sites and critical infrastructure. The statement underlined the importance of protecting the region from the effects of such unprovoked aggression and highlighted the need for de-escalation to restore both regional and global peace and security.

The Ministry reaffirmed Qatar's full solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait, expressing support for any measures the two nations undertake to safeguard their sovereignty and security. It also conveyed Qatar's wishes for a swift recovery for those injured in the attacks.
