Public Security Chief Engages with University of North Carolina Delegation

Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, hosted Dr. David Wyrick and his team from the University of North Carolina, USA, alongside representatives from Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E), to discuss collaborative efforts in combating violence and addiction.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Lt. Gen. Al Hassan emphasized the ongoing initiatives led by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, aimed at advancing police services to protect the community and maintain security and stability. A focal point of the discussion was the Maan (Together) Committee for Combating Violence and Addiction, with an emphasis on enhancing its effectiveness by leveraging international expertise and strengthening cooperation in applied research.

The meeting explored various scientific approaches to addressing violence and addiction, as well as the potential for enhanced bilateral cooperation. This includes utilizing academic studies and research to inform the development of educational curricula.

Lt. Gen. Al Hassan reiterated the Ministry's dedication to fostering partnerships with international research and academic institutions. He stressed the significance of collaborations between security agencies and research centers to advance policing efforts, thereby solidifying Bahrain's reputation as a regional hub for research and training.
