Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, chaired a coordination meeting to follow up on the preparations and arrangements of the security directorates for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of the Bahrain Grand Prix (Formula 1). The meeting was attended by directors from the Ministry of Interior and a representative of Bahrain International Circuit.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chief of Public Security emphasised that the meeting was part of the follow-up on security preparations and necessary arrangements to ensure the successful hosting of this global event. He noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain has over two decades of experience in organising the event, which has enabled it to demonstrate its capability to do so in line with the highest international standards.
Lt. Gen. Al Hassan underscored the importance of reviewing and rehearsing the plans in place to achieve national objectives in securing the race, its participants, and the safety of the public. He also highlighted the need to implement these plans through set scenarios to assess the readiness of the participating forces and their ability to respond with professionalism and competence to any emergency.
He emphasised the importance of full coordination between various security directorates, units, and relevant entities to ensure complete readiness. He also underscored the need to continue coordination meetings and field follow-ups to ensure that the required standards and objectives are achieved to safeguard the safety and security of all.
The Chief of Public Security expressed appreciation to all relevant parties for their efforts in ensuring the success of this global sporting event. He emphasised the ministry’s commitment, through its various directorates, to contributing to the success of this national event and reflecting Bahrain’s standing as a leading destination for hosting international sporting events.
