Manama: Abdullah Al Doseri, Advocate General and Head of the Office for International Cooperation and Human Rights of the Public Prosecution, received a delegation from Pakistan's Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman)'s Secretariat. The meeting focused on enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation between the two entities. According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions covered the working mechanisms of the Public Prosecution, with a particular emphasis on the implementation of the Alternative Sanctions and Open Prisons Law. Additionally, the systems for criminal mediation and reconciliation, especially in family and child cases, were reviewed to highlight their effectiveness and potential areas of collaboration. The Pakistani delegation was also introduced to the achievements of the Public Prosecution, including its social initiative Raya'a (Care), which underscores the commitment to child protection and the promotion of their best interests. The briefing aimed to provide insights into the procedural framework s established to safeguard children's welfare. The discussions further delved into opportunities for cooperation in training programs and the exchange of expertise, signifying a commitment to building stronger ties and sharing best practices in prosecutorial and ombudsman services.
