Prime Minister’s Journalism Award a tribute to responsible national press, says Information Minister

Under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Ministry of Information will organise on July 7 the distribution ceremony of the 5th edition of the Prime Minister’s Journalism Award. The virtual celebration will be held as part of the kingdom’s celebration of Bahrain Press Day to honor the best journalistic works in four categories: The best opinion column, the best investigative report, the best interview and the best photo.

Marking the occasion, Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for patronizing the award, which reflects his unflinching support to the responsible press and media freedom under the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Minister of Information expressed appreciation of the participation of 320 journalistic works in Arabic and English which are in the fray for the reputed award. He also praised the efforts of the jury, which comprises impartial media and academic competencies, in sorting, classifying and evaluating the journalistic works vying for the award in an accurate, objective, impartial and credible way.

The Minister of Information asserted that the Prime Minister’s Journalism Award, in its 5th edition, represents a tribute to the responsible national press, and an appreciation from HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for the enlightening message of the press and its vital role in the national march. He praised commitment to the free and responsible expression of opinion, and taking into account the supreme interest of the nation and citizens under the rule of law and institutions.
