Manama: The Primary Health Care Centres, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Social Development, and other governmental and civil institutions, have introduced the "Wiqar Wa Aman" campaign, focusing on the dignity and safety of the elderly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative was inaugurated with the presence of Lieutenant General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), and Dr. Jaleela Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, along with senior officials. The SCH Chairman emphasized Bahrain's enduring commitment to the elderly, acknowledging them as a fundamental part of society and a source of wisdom and inspiration. He stressed the Kingdom's pledge to deliver comprehensive health and social services through a cooperative government-civil partnership.
The campaign seeks to raise awareness about elderly rights, promote family and social care based on respect and appreciation, and reinforce national values of social solidarity. This will be achieved through educational programs, workshops, and field initiatives that empower the community to actively support and care for senior citizens.
