Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani affirmed that: "The Iraqi press was a witness to the political transformations."
Al-Sudani said during the official celebration of the National Day of the Iraqi press, "We remember with great pride the martyred journalists," stressing that "they had a great role in achieving victory and raising the morale of the fighters," he added that "journalists have a great role and partner in fighting corruption."
Al-Sudani stressed: "We do not forget the great role played by the press in highlighting negative files, and the government relies on the role of the press in fighting corruption and reporting it."
Al-Sudani said in his speech: "The government deals with the press today with great openness, and we directed the Integrity Commission to study and complete a draft law on the right to obtain information to send it to the House of Representatives for approval."
He added, "We have taken a package of measures to control and develop the economy, and the government is working to do justice to journalists, especially in the field of housing, in order to provide the journalist with a decent life."
