Pilgrims Gather at Namirah Mosque for Arafah Sermon

Arafat: Since the early morning hours, crowds of pilgrims have been arriving at Namirah Mosque in Arafat to perform the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, combined and shortened, and to listen to the Arafah sermon amid a spiritual atmosphere filled with tranquility and peace.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the mosque and its courtyards witnessed smooth movement of pilgrims, thanks to on-site monitoring by relevant authorities that mobilised all organisational and service capabilities to ensure the pilgrims' comfort and facilitate the performance of rituals in a peaceful environment.

Namirah Mosque is considered one of the most prominent Islamic landmarks in the holy sites because of its connection to the location where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) delivered his Farewell sermon.

The mosque was named after Mount Namirah located in the area. It occupies a strategic location north of Arafat, approximately 22 kilometers from the Grand Mosque, and is classified as the second-largest mosque in the holy sites area.
