Permanent Representatives of GCC States Meet UN Secretary-General Over Iranian Aggression


New york: The Permanent Representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to the United Nations convened in New York with Ant³nio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, to address recent Iranian aggression against GCC states. The meeting was led by Ambassador Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, the Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the UN, as Bahrain holds the chairmanship of the 46th session of the GCC.



According to Bahrain News Agency, during the meeting, the representatives discussed the latest developments affecting GCC countries, which have been targeted by Iranian aggression. This aggression has impacted civilian facilities, critical infrastructure, energy installations, airports, and seaports, violating the UN Charter, international law, and principles of good neighborliness.



The GCC Permanent Representatives provided detailed briefings on the extent of the threats faced by their countries. They emphasized the GCC states’ full capability and readiness of their air defense systems to effectively confront and neutralize such aggression.
