Manama: Participants in the seventh edition of the Bahrain Animal Production Show (Mara'ee 2024) commended the significant expansion of the event, highlighting its role in showcasing the quality of local production and the importance of preserving livestock. The exhibition featured unique activities and notable participation, attracting widespread attention. According to Bahrain News Agency, participants commended the outstanding organisation, noticeable expansion, and the consistent development of the exhibition over its successive editions. Abbas Al Najjar, Chairman of the Livestock and Live Shows Committee, noted the strong appeal of this year's edition, mentioning that the livestock tents drew significant interest, with producers and animal hobbyists adding exceptional value to the event. Dr. Hassan Al Hashim, from the Animal Health Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Municipal Affairs, highlighted the substantial support the exhibition enjoys. He emphasised the focus on ensuring the health of animals, particularly those imported, and expressed appreciation for breeders and participants who contributed to the success of the event. Mohammed Jassim, Animal Production Specialist at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, highlighted the exhibition's focus on supporting local agricultural and livestock products, noting that all participants, including individuals and companies, are local. He affirmed the commitment to promoting high-quality local products reliant on agricultural and livestock production. Waheed Khamis, supervisor of the cat section, expressed satisfaction with the strong engagement in his section, particularly from children, stating that the local production showcased reflects Bahrain's excellence. He added that the interest in this section underscores the appeal and diversity of local production. Young participant Hamdan Ali Al Kaabi expressed pride in displaying rare birds in the falconry section, marking his first appearance at the exhibition. He highlighted the s ignificance of introducing visitors to the showcased falcons and peregrines. The seventh edition of Mara'ee Bahrain 2024 builds on the success of previous editions, aligning with national strategies to enhance the role of the agricultural and livestock sectors in achieving food security and supporting the national economy. The exhibition also aims to advance environmental and afforestation efforts, open new marketing channels, and promote agricultural innovation by empowering Bahraini farmers and breeders. Additionally, it serves as an educational platform for children, youth, and experts in agriculture and animal production.
