Geneva: Bahrain's parliamentary delegation, represented by MP Abdulnabi Salman Nasser, First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Bassam Ismail Al Binmohammed, Member of the Shura Council, participated in a hearing session with international experts and parliamentarians during the 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the session focused on the role of parliaments in establishing mechanisms for post-conflict management and achieving just and lasting peace. This discussion was part of the agenda of the Standing Committee on Peace and International Security.
The delegation stressed that achieving a lasting peace requires a comprehensive approach that integrates justice, development, and legislative reform, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence.
The delegation also underscored the important role of parliaments in building trust, supporting transitional justice, and enhancing public participation. It affirmed Bahrain's commitment to collaborating with international parliamentary efforts to promote justice and peace.
