Cairo: Hussein Al Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), met with Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, in Cairo to discuss developments in the Gaza Strip and enhance joint coordination.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting addressed Egyptian efforts, in partnership with Qatar and the United States, to resume the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in addition to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip.
Both sides also discussed steps for early recovery and the reconstruction of Gaza in accordance with the Arab-Islamic plan. The meeting also reviewed preparations for Egypt's hosting of an international conference on the reconstruction of Gaza in cooperation with the United Nations and the Palestinian government.
