Pakistan PM Orders Comprehensive Relief Operations in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Manama: Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to carry out comprehensive relief operations in flood affected areas of Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in northern Pakistan.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said the Prime Minister instructed NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider to coordinate closely with the governments of Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and expedite relief efforts.

He added that the Prime Minister's Office has set up a special cell to maintain round-the-clock communication with the NDMA, noting that all relevant institutions are mobilising resources to support ongoing operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Minister Tarar said that the NDMA's command and control centre is operating at full capacity and is closely monitoring developments in the affected areas.
