Over 500 Economic and Trade Deals Inked at China-ASEAN Expo

Nanning: The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit concluded on Sunday in Nanning, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with more than 500 economic and trade agreements signed at the event.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Wei Zhaohui, Secretary-General of CAEXPO Secretariat, announced at a press briefing that this year's expo witnessed the signing of 155 investment projects. Of these projects, 74 were focused on processing and manufacturing, representing 88% of the total investment.

The manufacturing projects spanned various sectors, including mechanical equipment, petrochemicals and chemical engineering, nonferrous metals, new materials, light industry, textiles, and information technology, as reported by Xinhua News Agency.

The five-day event covered an exhibition area of 160,000 square meters, attracting 3,260 businesses from 60 countries. Among these, enterprises from ASEAN countries numbered 627.

For the first time, the expo featured a pavilion dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI), showcasing approximately 1,200 products, including around 20 large language models and 60 intelligent robots.

The 23rd CAEXPO is tentatively scheduled for September 17-21, 2026, with the Philippines designated as the country of honour.
