Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, affirmed the deep-rooted nature of charitable work in Bahraini society. He emphasized that these values reflect the inherent generosity, selflessness, and solidarity of the Bahraini people, woven into the fabric of the society's culture.
According to Bahrain News Agency, on the occasion of International Charity Day, observed annually on 5 September, His Highness acknowledged Bahrain's esteemed position in charitable endeavors. This reputation, he noted, is largely due to the royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, and the ongoing support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Their efforts have been instrumental in consolidating the values of generosity and solidarity, further enhancing the significance of charitable work in serving the community.
His Highness highlighted Bahrain's extensive history in charitable activities, shaped over generations by its institutions and citizens. This legacy has become a firmly established approach and a defining characteristic of Bahraini society.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the Royal Humanitarian Foundation exemplifies institutional charitable work in Bahrain. Over the past 25 years, the foundation has launched various initiatives aimed at promoting community service, thus serving as a model for others.
His Highness used the occasion of the International Day of Charity to underline the importance of fostering a culture of giving and encouraging initiatives that enhance community participation. He stressed that charity is not about the magnitude of one's contributions but rather the sincerity, continuity, and positive impact of such initiatives on individuals and society as a whole.
In addition, His Highness underscored the necessity of instilling a culture of giving among younger generations and encouraging them to serve their communities. This ensures that the values of kindness and solidarity are preserved and that charitable work remains a social value throughout all life stages. He expressed gratitude to individuals, organizations, and initiatives that actively promote charitable work.
