Manama: Ghada Hameed Habib, Secretary-General of the Ombuds Office, welcomed a delegation from the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) during their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting included Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion focused on the mechanisms for protecting human rights and the role of the Ombuds Office in promoting justice and transparency. The office is committed to enhancing human rights through its independent oversight and legal responsibilities.
The Secretary-General praised GANHRI’s efforts in supporting national human rights institutions in alignment with the Paris Principles. She expressed a keen interest in expanding cooperation to leverage international expertise and best practices.
Additionally, the ongoing partnership between the Ombuds Office and the NIHR was emphasized as a key factor in strengthening the national human rights framework and supporting the rule of law.
