Ombudswoman and UK Deputy Head of Mission Discuss Joint Cooperation

Manama: Ghada Hameed Habib, the Ombudswoman, received Fiona Walker Doyle, the Deputy Head of Mission of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation and share expertise.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ombudswoman provided an overview of the Ombudsman Office's recent activities, based on her 11th annual report, focusing on transparency, accountability, and building public trust within law enforcement.

The discussions centered around shared concerns, including continuous training for investigators, best international practices in handling complaints, and the media's role in raising awareness of rights and complaint processes.

Fiona Walker Doyle commended the Ombudsman Office's role in advancing human rights in Bahrain and highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation and expertise exchange.

The Ombudswoman stressed the significance of such visits in fostering effective communication with international partners, aiming to improve performance and achieve the Ombudsman Office's goals. She expressed optimism for continued beneficial cooperation with the UK Embassy in the Kingdom.
