Oman and Lebanon Explore Boosting Economic and Investment Cooperation

Muscat: Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman, received Dr. Amer Bassat, Minister of Economy and Trade of the Lebanese Republic, and his accompanying delegation to enhance economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the two sides reviewed aspects of trade, investment, and industrial cooperation, and ways to develop them to achieve mutual interests. The discussions focused on activating the Greater Arab Free Trade Area agreement, establishing an Omani-Lebanese Business Council, operating maritime and air shipping lines, and studying the participation of companies in joint projects and boosting re-export.

They also explored opportunities for industrial and logistical cooperation, including inviting Lebanese companies to benefit from Oman's economic zones for the storage and re-export of food products. Furthermore, they discussed forming joint working teams to explore export and import opportunities.
