Manama: Faisal bin Hareb Al Busaidi, Ambassador of Oman to Bahrain, highlighted the deep-rooted and historic ties between Bahrain and Oman, describing them as a model of strong relations at both official and public levels. He noted that these ties are built on mutual understanding and collaboration, guided by the leaderships of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al-Said. According to Bahrain News Agency, the ambassador, in an interview marking Oman's National Day, discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including economy, education, culture, health, media, energy, cybersecurity, agriculture, and social development. He emphasised the importance of further strengthening these sectors. He pointed to strong trade and investment relations fostering economic integration, with trade between Bahrain and Oman exceeding $518 million by the end of 2023. The ambassador added that future plans aim to deepen economic partnerships to meet the aspirations of both nation s. Al Busaidi highlighted that Bahraini-Omani relations significantly contribute to the stability and progress of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) efforts, with aligned visions between the two leaderships enhancing regional cooperation to address security, stability, and sustainable development. He outlined Oman's focus on developing human and technological resources, prioritising education, healthcare, and social welfare. Oman also aims to empower youth, women, and all societal groups to actively contribute to building the future. The ambassador noted that Oman's economic and financial policies seek sustainability and growth. He further highlighted Oman's Vision 2040, launched in January 2021, which spans four consecutive development plans starting with the 10th Five Year Development Plan (2021-2025). This vision reflects Oman's ambitions for a more prosperous and flourishing future. Al Busaidi also mentioned that financial reforms, such as improving non-oil revenues, have positively impacted Oman's financ ial performance during the first three years of the 10th Five Year Development Plan. These reforms have enhanced Oman's credit ratings, improved its economic outlook, and attracted greater foreign investment.
