Oil, Environment Minister Meets ACWA Power Chairman on Sidelines of IDCE2025

Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, held a meeting with Mohammad Abunayyan, Founder and Chairman of ACWA Power, on the sidelines of the International Downstream Conference and Exhibition (IDCE2025), hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from September 30 to October 2 at the Exhibition World Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by Mark Thomas, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bapco Energies, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, Acting Managing Director of Bapco Energies and Chief Executive Officer of Bapco Refining, and Samir Serhan, President of ACWA Power Saudi Arabia and Middle East.

Dr. Bin Daina highlighted the close historical ties and strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, describing them as a model of deep-rooted cooperation and joint action across multiple domains.

The meeting discussed cooperation in renewable energy between the two kingdoms, within the framework of ongoing joint development projects. The talks highlighted ACWA Power's global leadership in energy transition and its expertise in providing reliable, responsible, and cost-efficient energy solutions, as well as in hydrogen and water technologies.

The Minister underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation with leading companies in the energy transition field through the implementation of innovative projects and initiatives that enhance regional energy security and support the expansion of clean energy.
