Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council, and Chairman of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA) board, chaired the agency's first meeting following its restructuring. The board reviewed NSSA's strategy, key initiatives, and international collaborations, highlighting the Kingdom of Bahrain's increasing involvement in the global space sector, including leadership roles in major international organizations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, updates on the 'Al Munther' satellite project were presented during the meeting. The launch date for the satellite will be announced soon, aligning with Bahrain's silver jubilee celebrations. The board commended the technical team responsible for designing and building the satellite within the Kingdom.
The meeting also addressed NSSA's 2024 strategic plan implementation and performance indicators for the current year. The board emphasized its dedication to enhancing Bahrain's presence in the global space sector, reinforcing its commitment to advancing the Kingdom's capabilities and contributions in space science and technology.
