Manama: Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received David Brownstein, Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting served as a platform to review areas of mutual interest and explore avenues for cooperation between the two parties.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions highlighted the NIHR's ongoing efforts to promote human rights awareness and monitor the human rights situation within the Kingdom. These efforts are carried out through field visits, oversight reports, and awareness publications, all in accordance with the institution's legal mandate. The discussions also emphasized the importance of aligning these initiatives with international principles and standards that govern national human rights institutions.
